Mentorship Program

What is the Mentorship Program?

The Cedar Valley LGBTQ+ Mentorship Program is designed to provide "allyship, experience, friendship, knowledge, and empowerment" to individuals connected with the LGBTQ+ community. 

Mentors are trained to respond to all types of needs for mentees! Whether is be support with writing college essays, starting to socially transition, or tips on finding and/or making friends, a mentor is here for you. Mentees can be any age, whether you are a parent trying to navigate supporting your child throughout their coming out journey, a student trying to get connected, or someone simply trying to find community, resources, and answers.

Frequency and venues of meetings are flexible and will be decided between each mentor and mentee. Additionally, mentors and mentees are not required to personally identify with an LGBTQIA+ identity in order to be eligible: Each mentor/mentee relationship comes with is own unique needs and qualities!

The mentorship program coordinator will gather information from an online form completed by mentors and mentees to inform how those interested will be paired together. Please reach out to cvlgbtqmentorship@gmail.com with any further questions or concerns regarding the program.
